US Type Load Binder VS. European Type Load Binder

Load binders are often used in cargo transportation and lifting operations to ensure that the goods are securely fixed during transportation, preventing them from shifting or loosening due to vibration, jolting or external forces.

However, there are both American and European versions of the load binder. So how can we distinguish them?

One of the most obvious and intuitive features of them is whether the hook part has a pin (as shown in the picture).

The US type load binder hooks lack a safety pin.

The European type load binder features an eye grab hook with a safety pin.

In addition, the following aspects can also be used for distinction:

Standard:

US Type load binder complies with ASTM standards.

European type load binder complies with EN12195-3.

Specifications: Taking ratchet rigging as an example, the specifications of American and European load binders are different(as shown in the following date sheet).

Whether to use the US type or the European type of load binder should be determined based on your specific needs, transportation environment and other factors.
